Default Help. Shifter not resetting

Thanks for reading . I have a 2009 streetglide with the 6 speed. Sometimes when I shift, it doesn't go in to the next gear. It feels like it didn't reset after the previous shift . When I go to shift the lever just seems extremely free. Once I go to shift again it shifts right up . And it also seems like it's doing it between 2nd and 3rd (not 100% positive it's just then) I took the external linkage apart, cleaned everything up . The lever coming off the spindle on the trans seemed real loose and wouldn't tighten so I replaced that. Still having the issue . Any ideas ?

The shifter return spring is a possibility. Don't see that too much, though.

The only other thing that comes to mind is a sticky shifter drum. Why that would happen, I don't know.

Heel shifter was a little low. Adjusted that when I cleaned the linkage . I'm gonna change my trans fluid I think and see if that helps and if not , check out the drum . Thanks you guys . Any other ideas or tips let me know
