Shifter linkage - excessive play

Shifter linkage - excessive play
2009 FLHX
Noticed some excessive play in my shifter linkage the other day. Excessive movement was at the aft connection arm that attaches to the transmission. The fastener that attaches the arm seemed to be tight. Anybody had any issues with this part in the past? I need to grab a mirror to get a closer look as its behind the primary and hard to get to. I couldn't find any info in the manual about a breakdown of specific parts, (bushings, etc) Thanks for any help. And I apologize for not having pictures. Will get them uploaded today.
Thanks, Brian

You remove the pinch bolt that hold the lever on the transmission shaft and clean the threads out with another bolt and some lubricant. Then clean with brake clean and using a new bolt and some Blue Loc Tite re-torgue the pinch bolt you should be good to go. I've done on several scooter with much success. There are more expensive ( and time consuming ) ways to go ( BetterLever.com ) but this should/will do the trick.
