Default Transmission oil weight

Which oil and weight would you suggest for the transmission in a 2004 Heritage Softail FLSTC used in mid florida? Harley specs call for Part No. 99892-84 quart .

Thank you in advance!

PS: I just replaced the factory installed Dunlap tires [13,000 miles original miles] with Michelin Commando 11. WHAT A DIFFERENCE in the ride and handling!

I'm running Valvoline 75w140 full syn in my '04 Standard. Tried the redline you'll hear a lot about and hated it.

Thanks for the input. So, I guess it is either 75-90 OR 75-140? I will have to check the spec in regards to ambient which is anywhere from 40 to 90 degrees on average.

Just spoke to a Harley rep.. Said I can use 20-50W Synthetic oil in all three holes. Now I am really confused But did say that I should use 75-90, where I live, should I decide to use Transmission oil.

Spectro Oil BD-75140
Recommended Fluid / Level
Picking the right transmission fluid ensures the life and durability of your transmission, that’s why BAKER recommends a fully synthetic GL-5 rated gear weight oil of 75W-140. If a GL-5 rated gear lube is not available, these commonly carried viscosities (weights) will work 75W-90, 75W-140 and 85W-140. BAKER does not recommend the use of Syn3 (20W-50). BAKER DD6 Fluid Capacity Dry: 22-24fl-oz
BAKER DD6 Fluid Capacity Wet: 18-22fl-oz

You don`t need anything special in that 5 speed transmission.

Any gear lube of the correct grade is fine. It will last damn near forever on store brand 75W90 gear lube.
