I had pick up a 1970 flh I don't know any history on it. It has a kicker and a 1 3/4 belt primary. I installed a original electric starter prestolite when the starter turns it does not engage the starter gear on clutch basket the ring gear is a 1/2 inch outside of inner primary. when the starter comes out and spins it does not even touch the ring gear seems to me that the clutch basket and ring gear are too far away is there a way to extend drive shaft with a replacement. the guy who had it before ran it as kick only.i want to keep kicker and run electric starter am I better off getting an original primary chain drive which I'm fine with any help would be great.
