Default Shift lock out?

Hey all, got a question i recently bought my first harley a 2011 street bob with bunch of modifications done to it that just rolled over 18k miles. But every once in awhile when i try to upshift my gear shifter wont move like its jammed up. If i let the clutch back out and repeat a upshift it will go all fine. Im kind of thinking maybe its the way im shifting with my foot that maybe in binding the linkage up? Im 6'4 and even with forward controls i have to kind of roll my foot to the side and rock my foot back like normal. Anyone have any input? Im a newer rider so the month iv been riding im sure iv put some more then normal wear on the clutch but i feel like i can roll out pretty smoothly. Thanks guys!

Double check your linkage between the foot shifter and the transmission.Make sure nothing is binding and that the shift rod is parallel to the bike.
