Why can't we just use solid sprockets like the sportsters use??

You can, but if the crank has excessive runout the chain won't run true on it either.

It's really not that bad of an install a factory service manual will help a ton and an impact for breaking the bolt loose. Don't forget your torque wrench a 200 pounder will be needed.

Don't know if you have read up on the new 2017 Milwaukee 8 yet but they upped the starter kw. There might be a reason for that.

Well update on the Baker comp and adjuster 9800 miles. Pretty damn quiet now. Good starts. No knocking. All and all not even a hint of a problem. Going on a 3000 mile trip and won't even think about it. Wish the powervision worked as well......PITA thing .
Thanks Baker...happy customer here.

My SE wasn't giving me any problems, but I also went w/ a Baker Comp while I upgraded my basket and powdered my inner and outer primaries. So far so good.

I had the upgraded SE compensator and it seemed ok but since I was installing my Baker DD7 I got the baker Compensator at the same time. Easy to change got the run out within .002 the crank run out was under .004. Ran real sweet very smooth and quiet, but now it's kicking back making noise etc it has about 6000 km on it, not sure what's wrong but will be putting my SE compensator back in. I pre ordered mine before release so it was one of the first ones, I heard something about some revisions that have come out since then.

If you find out that the compensator is bad give us a call and we'll get you return number. If starter kick back is your issue I would also be checking your battery, starter clutch, timing and primary chain tension. A bad compensator can exaggerate a kick back issue but is not the root cause.
