Default 07 Electra Glide compensator

I posted on the touring page and was recommended to post here. I have decided to replace the stock compensator with a Baker. I was told I should just put in a solid compensator/ sprocket. I feel that I'd rather keep a compensator as going solid. That being said I was quoted $500 for the Baker compensator and a total of $739 for the job parts and labor. Does anyone know a place to buy the Baker for less than what the local shop is asking? Thanks for the input.

Buy the Baker direct from them.

Hope this isn't high jacking the thread, if so, report it, but what are the signals a compensator needs replacing?

No no problem at all. Mine started out with just a "tick" also described as sounding like a sewing machine running. Then it progressed to sounding more like a "rock in a can". Now if I ease out on the clutch while holding the brake it sounds almost like a rod knocking.
