Default Hayden M-6 tensioner or not

Is the Hayden M6 primary chain tensioner worth the time and money to install , I understand you have to check it and re-shim as necessary , anybody have first hand experience with this product ? Thank you

I've had the M-6 in 2 bikes, was noisy and I think ran too tight on chain anyway (2 IP bearings and shoe worn out and 1 SE compensator took a dump ). I think the Baker attitude adjuster is a far better idea (in wife's bike now with no issues) and now HD has an SE manual adjust tensioner that I am trying in my scoot, seems to be same principle as the Baker adjuster.

Honestly I would stay away from all auto chain adjusters. If you do your scheduled maintenance, you shouldn't ever have a problem......

Buy the baker... great quality and support from those guys. Second bike running one both built motors. Never had an issue.

I like them. Especially since HD deleted the inspection covers to save two dollars. Have them in both bikes, haven't had to re shim either. Not noisy either. Just my .02.

Thank you for the replies , I'll take a look at the baker , a new chain and shoe will be the cheaper route

I agree. Put one in my bike about 2k miles ago and it has never shifted so easy. Not even when new.
