Default NEW Hydraulic Clutch Jerks Into Gear. ???

Only when I 1st start the bike go to use the clutch for the 1st time, it seems to jerk or bang into gear. It is not smooth.

I have a '17 Ultra Ltd. 3,800 miles on it and this did NOT happen until recently.

I start the bike.
Back it out of the garage.
Let it warm a a bit, then as I let the clutch out, it does not engage the gear smoothly. It clearly bangs into gear. ONLY the 1st time. As I ride off, all further engaging of the hydraulic clutch is smooth.

I do not think it happens every time. Maybe 75% of the time.

Any of this making any sense to anyone?

Thank you in advance,

Ok, I just do not recall that happening to my other bikes.

Not sure why they would be sticky. Hmmm. TY.

Try rocking the bike back and forth before starting it see if it makes a difference.

It will help separate the clutch plates if they are stuck together.

Oh...............I start the bike. Back it out of the garage. Then when I put it into gear it sometimes jerks into gear. So I do roll the bike.

I am dumb when it comes to this so this may sound stupid....should I PULL THE CLUTCH in then rock the bike?

I leave 'me bike in gear. So I do pull the clutch in b4 starting it. That help?

(I can't believe I don't know this stuff.)

Before you start the bike, put it in gear, release the clutch, rock the bike forward and backward a few times. Then, pull in the clutch and fire it up. See if it still does the jerk thing.

Does it jerk when you first press on the shift lever or as you let the clutch out?
