Default ticking sound from primary

Im getting a ticking sound from the primary area on my 02 Fatboy FI. It happens when shifting through the gears, when i reach about 2,000+ rmp it starts a slight rattle/tick. when cruising in 5th gear it will make the noise when the engine is under load but not when off the throttle. Have adjusted clutch multiple times, checked drive belt tension, change primary fluid, etc. Have noticed that it comes and goes, and not there at idle. Thanks for any and all input!

Did you check the nut holding the comp on? If it's loose it will rattle.

What rpm do you shift at? What's your cruising rpm?

Does it happen when short shifting(clicking the next gear with 2800 on the tach)?

it does it all the time,i notice it when it reaches approx.2,000 rpm. When I shift and the rpms go down it goes away until i reach that rpm range, and goes away if i let off throttloe no matter what the rpm is,it only does it when engine is under a load above 2,000 rpm

I had something similar. It turned out to be the small pulley on the belt drive. The big nut holder came lose and a small bolt came loose and was rattling around inside. I had to take the whole primary off and replace the small belt pulley and holder and while I was there I replaced seals and bearings. If this is as clear as mud I could try to explain better

No the noise is pretty much the same no matter the rpm. It doesn't make any noise when idling or when revved up in neutral.
