Default Dry Clutch vs Wet Clutch

Have a 1993 Moo Bike (Harley Davidson)
Raised ring on block has gone back and the shop says to go to a dry clutch. What will this do to the operations and valve and appearance.
How about maintenance.

more info is needed.
if i had a rather, it would be wet because it is wet, if a dry clutch becomes wet, all kind of issues and drag will be one. also depends upon what friction material you use, some just dry, some just wet and some either way. the way you are going to activate it matters too.

With the busted ring, going belt drive / dry clutch is not a bad idea.. Ventilate the primary covers. I put about 44K on a primo rivera, Did replace the belt at 30K Have a evo bobber with BDL open primary. Needs rebuild at about every 16K..

IMO -- the dry clutch --- unless you do a lot of slow maneuvers where you would need to do clutch slipping

Replace the ring gear or clutch outer shell and keep the wet clutch configuration.

Your shop is trying to sell you something you don`t need.

I think he talking about the motor case lip that holds the o ring to seal the inner primary.

you are a very patience man mr. max, every 16k rebuild would be unnerving. of coarse, i can't complain, my mistakingly over built 305 honda had to be upper end rebuilt every 3 run, as the rings would shatter. after the second crank rebuild, i trashed it.

Man did I read that wrong....

May have been caused by installing the inner primary cover without first loosening the transmission and engine mounting hardware...
