I have tried searching for something similar but haven't been able to find it. Here is my issue:

I have 2007 FLHTC that I just replaced the stator. Putting everything back together and I'm running into the following:

• Torqued Compenstator Bolt with no issues
• Trying to torque Clutch Hub nut to 75 ft. lbs and when I get close the internals of the clutch are turning. The clutch basket is not turning, it is locked with the locking tool.
• I can't get to the proper torque settings because the internals are turning on the clutch.

Anyone seen this issue before? Do I need to replace the clutch plates?

Do you have the bike in gear or in neutral? Put in 4th gear

 

Well... I feel a little stupid... apparently my taiwanese torque wrench doesn't click counter clock wise. Checked with another and I probably have the tightest clutch hub nut in North Texas.

 

Take it back off and reinstall using the proper torque.
