Default M8 CVO Odd Downshifting

Hello,

Curious if anyone else has experienced crappy downshifting on their M8?

I didn’t think the transmission was any different on the newer ones, but it seems I need to be rolling forward, shift down to say second, release clutch, then try for first. I'm usually quick shifting down to first at a light on my 09, this 17 seems to be temperamental.

Anyone else experience this?

Is this the clutch (recall) acting up? (Slave cylinder?)
Thoughts?

thank you

H

Wink

If it's brand new wait until the first service and have a word with your dealer. New vehicles can take a while to 'run-in' and often improve significantly with use. They also improve with familiarity, so get those miles rolling by!

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the feedback, but she's got 11,000 km on the odometer. It's just weird how I need to shift down from say third, to second. [release clutch] then first. My 09 FLHX I just pull in the clutch and click, click, click.[Ok, clunk, clunk, clunk...] but you see what I mean? It needs to be engaged for a short duration to downshift? I believe it is, but maybe the clutch isn't fully disengaging.

Anyhow, I haven't got the recall done just yet, and this is kind of a "winter post" after a ride down to Oregon. I'll have to get it in for the recall I suppose.

Thanks
Harry

Cool

Harry, I agree that is odd! With that sort of mileage (kilometerage?!) it should be riding like clockwork. It will be interesting to se if the recall does any good.
