just to finalize the job.. i had to cut off the sleeve with dremel since all of my pullers were to wide to get in behind the sleeve with the trans sprocket in place. it popped with no problems with a cut into the sleeve about 75% of the thickness.

the SKF bearing wasn't hard to find but the seal was another story. i deal with a couple of different auto parts company's and neither could cross over the 25x52x7 number. napa told me that their short seal number that i gave them was a good number, but it wasn't coming up in the system and they couldn't figure out why or how to order them. ok.. I called a company i deal with on hard to find brgs and seals and they crossed it over to SKF number. the seal fit like a glove, but the brg was another issue.. i had to use a old style brake hone with emory cloth wrapped on it to take enough material out of the inner brg race's inside diameter for it to have a smooth slide on installation.. wasn't bad, just took some time. i also removed the bearings end seals/shields. i figured i wanted oil to get in and out and not be trapped between the brg and seal possibly causing a leak. I've had her out on two different runs, one about 15 and the other 30 miles, and all appears dry..

part numbers.. SKF on both..

Brg- 6205-2ZJ
Seal- 692325

Thanks Soft..

If anyone ever needs a odd bearing or seal for just about anything in the mechanical world, cars, boats, washing machines, lawn mowers etc.. if you have a imprinted number off the seal, brg or exact dimensions, they can find it for you.

Question Baker Bearing; leave sealed?

Jumping in late on this one, but I find myself inside my IP for a belt change, and rotor/stator upgrade. I'm also installing the Baker while inside and this presents a question; Should I leave the bearing sealed, or pop the covers and open the inside to continuous lubrication?...Mark@ Baker Drivetrain??

Mark must be busy.

I asked him this question some time back. See his response here in post #6.

I went with the All ***** double-row bearing upgrade, and I removed both side seals to maximize oil throughput to my ***** . 2000 mi on it so far, & smooth as glass.

I pulled the shields off the bearing.. i wanted fluid to be able to get in AND out with no problems. i felt with the shields in, fluid could get trapped between bearing and seal and may force fluid out.. also by removing the shields it lets fluid continuously flow through the bearing and not allow any type of debris to get trapped inside...
