Default kicker on EFI

Has anyone put a kicker on an EFI, and if so does it kick start different than a carburated bike? On a carb bike a couple quick twists of the wrist gives more fuel, EFI doesnt do this. On the compression stroke, or throttle off or partly on? Put a kicker on my bike(99 King)but havin a hell of a time starting it. Starts easy with the thumb but the foot just makes me breath hard. Any info would be appreciated before I go to aerobic classes to get my breath back.

You can't kick start EFI. It needs to see a continouos crank signal (early ones need a cam signal for phase) to get started. Delphi uses the cranking signal to turn pump back on and Marellu ises cam signal in conjunction with crank to know when to throw spark.

Dumb thought, but can you push 'em and do a jump start if your battery is too low to crank the bike?

If your battery is too low to start your bike it won't run unless you have a full 12 volts on solid state electronics. so pushin or jumpin won't do any good. Been there done that.
