2006 Street Glide Clutch Adjust Situation

I was attempting to adjust my clutch cable on my 2006 Street Glide with the adjusting screw and it turned while putting the jam nut on. Now the adjustment screw is too tight to turn by hand. Even with allen wrench it is super tight. What would normally cause this? What can be done to correct it?

After this I turned it all the way clockwise and the adjustment screw came out, I put it back and it is still tight. Did I strip something?

The clutch adjusting process involves backing off the cable adjuster (halfway along it), so there is plenty of slack, then adjusting at the centre of the clutch itself. The only allen screw I know is in the centre of the clutch. If you are attempting to adjust there without backing off the cable, then you should follow the correct procedure.

There are two Stickies at the top of this section of the forum, if you are uncertain of the correct process!

Got it

I figured out my problem. While tightening the locknut I let the allen slip and stripped my clutch plate and adjustment screw. 20 bucks later, I have the parts to try again. :icon_lol:
