Default Road Trip to the Gulf Coast.. Thoughts?

Got 2 18 year old daughters graduating High school in May and their mom asked what they would like to do for the end o year...They were going over their bucket list and said since they have never seen the oceans, that this would be one to do..Don't have time to go east or west coast so Thought about a weekend excursion down to the Gulf Coast...Looking for input on best places...Thoughts are Gulfport, Biloxi , or Bay St Louis.... planning on around sometime in June...

Anybody got suggestions..?

Lots of places to stay and eat in Biloxi. Beaches are pretty, but the water is not that pretty. You can take the trip to Ship Island that leaves out of Gulfport and the southern side of the island can be pretty. I believe there is a concession stand there now. There is also the fort you can tour. When you firm up your plans, let me know if you would like some recommendations for places to eat.

I would vote for the beaches in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach Alabama. Great sugar sand and awesome places to eat. I would also put a word in for Destin, FL.

Having travelled the Gulf Coast area for years on business I've got to say your family would really like Pensacola/Fort Walton areas much better...if you could squeeze over that far east. Apologies to Mississippi folks, but you've got to agree.

I would agree and I could also recommend a lot of eating places there as well.

hafta go over that way to get the white sands and clear/blue waters. Tx La area has some great spots but the water looks almost chocolate milk at times.... muddy rivers among other things.

AL FL area has some good natural beaches great for walks and shell, driftwood hunting as well as touristy strip stuff.

Panama City is a good young folks town but just down the road about 30 miles is a good little place called Mexico Beach and the El Govenor Motel. If you go there ask for a room in the Annex instead of the tower.

When I was young, the MS beach was touted as the largest manmade beach in the world. It is a pretty beach.

Pensacola beach is an awesome ocean experience if they want to swim. One of the best beaches in the country that I have seen and enough space to get away from the crowds. The road out to Fort Pickens offers lots of privacy and beautiful sunsets. We have a friend who owns Pensacola beach properties that has some awesome ocean front units for reasonable prices. The summer months are much higher priced. We rented for a week in September and had 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a pool and an enclosed garage to park in. If you're into aviation the Naval Air station at Pensacola has a huge museum that is spectacular and is also the home of the Blue Angels.
