I would love to read some suggestions on for a holiday during the month of July. I had originally planed to ride from Vancouver B.C. down south into Baja. But the more I read this maybe a bit to far to go and still have over a weeks worth of lying on the beach and relaxing somewhere. So lets here some ideas. I will be going with the wife and this will be part of our 25th wedding anniversary/holiday. Do you guys who have done big trips think Vancouver into south Baja is possible? Would love to relax somewhere and have great scenery beaches ,and not over touristy.

 

If it were me I would keep with your plan although I would either make a fast trip to Baja and take my time going home. Or work my way south and fast track home when time runs out. The next year I would pick up from where I left off. It's what I like best about winging it, if I find a place I like I'll stay for awhile.

Last year I made my way from central BC to Glacier Park MT then to Yellowstone before I had to head home. I was heading towards Rapid City/ Sturgis area but didn't make it. This year I will head straight south to Yellowstone in 1 day then either head south to Utah/Arizona area or continue exploring into South Dakota/Wyoming.

 

Here is what I would recommend. Take 7 days to get from Vancouver to Baja. Ride the Pacific Coast Highway. Lay on the beaches of Baja and when it is time to head home, take I5 and you can make it easily in 4-5 days without really pushing it. And best wishes to you and your wife on your 25th anniversary.
