Beautiful scenery. Christmas was unusually warm here in Northern Illinois, with temps in the mid 40's. If only my bikes weren't in storage. Actually it's probably a good thing they are, otherwise one of them would be covered in road salt right now.

Happy New Year!

I spent some time on my Computer today. I have taken so many pictures they where all over the Hard Drives, and I am not finished yet. Before I had Darla1, I had a Triumph Bonny, and before that I had a BMW GS, and before that, I had a Buell Ulysses. I really liked that bike. The Sportster motor was a torque & HP monster.... that thing would go over 60 mph in first gear..... anyway, as I was going through the images, I found a few you might be interested in.

This is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. That is the Bull River on the right and we are heading East deeper into the Rockies.....

... this is about 20 miles up and they where repairing the bridges after a bunch of wash outs that spring. We got another 20 miles North up the road, but there was a bridge out and the water was too high to ford the river so we turned around. We got around the front of the backhoe with a bit of work.

This is on Gold Creek road south of Cranbrook. (not Grey Creek as previously stated...) That is Baker Mountain and if you look close you can see the towers on the third peak from the right. I was making a shot for it but did not make it on that day.

When I was driving for CP Trucks I use to go up there almost every day for a few years.

I put insurance on Darla today and ran her down to the shop. There is a recall on something in the clutch assembly so it is in for that, and for those that don't know, I dropped her on Saturday and bashed up the fairing. I am getting a bra for it as the fairing is back ordered and is close to 8 weeks, or longer before it comes in. .... but it is January 21 and I am ahead of my previous record by a bunch, which was February 8th..... I did get some strange looks around town when I took a short tour. The roads are bare and dry (mostly) and I did not even need my electric vest, but did have the grips heat on. I also have the "First Ride In" honors at the HD shop

Fist bike to ride into the shop in 2019.

13,000 miles on my Alaska run and not a scratch, but cannot get it out of the shop without breaking ****.

I guess I will be the one to ask a stupid question, that isn't something that can be repaired?

Nope.... even if you could, by the time you did and painted it it wouldn't be any less in cost. The repair, is replacement.

Ouch! Just curious, how did it happen? Just wanting to learn from it.
