Lol. Ya, one of the reasons I DO ride alone... no one to sort stuff out with. Riding with me would be taxing at the very least.

A very knowledgeable forestry guy I know says one the reasons we have lots of fires now is because we fought them so aggressively in the past. ....Wood burns .... film at 11:00.

 

Time for an adventure..... on Sept 3rd, on the Sunday of the long weekend, there is a Show & Shine and Swap meet called ShovelFest in Creston BC, which is about 65 miles west.

I just got the Pan back from the shop. Robin put a new Generator on her and did a bit of wrenching..... and if the weather holds .... her and I are going trippin'....

 

I ride the Big Girl from home (Kimberly) to Cranbrook...... then Babydoll around town ..... then Darla2 back home....... Sucks to be me, Right??

She was parked indoors, and not ridden for a week

Ignition off ..... no throttle. prime ..... prime ..... prime

Ignition on & choke on...... kick..... kick & Start.

Once I adjusted the idle up a bit, it idles nicely, no more blipping the throttle at red lights or Stop signs.

The new Generator has made a big difference in how she starts & runs.

So .... I am out bopping around town on Darla3 ... breakfast, coffee, a bit of shopping for this and that.... I was down at the Dealer visiting the crew in the morning, then went back later in the afternoon..... and one of the boys asks me if I want to be interviewed for a TV show that runs down in the Southern States somewhere..... "What??" Ya, this couple is riding around the country doing interviews with different folks. The guys at the shop told them that fellow who likes to ride, and just bought an old Panhead, just pulled in. So they ask me if I am into it. Yup.

We go out to the pan and she films while he interviews me. And they asked me about some rides ..... and then about "Journeys" ..... and then invited me to a ride in their home state of Arkansas to "The Steele Horse Ralley". And where especially interested in me bringing Darla3 down.

I got out of sequence this morning and it took a couple of dozzen kicks to get her going. Then she got temperamental and faught me for the rest of the morning.

 

So it is turning into just a bit more than riding to Creston and back this Sunday for ShovelFest. Some of the OldIron boys are riding up Kootenay Lake and over to Toad Rock south of Kaslo for the night after the Show & Shine. I need to do a bit of work on BabyDoll to get her ready over the next few days, and we leave Sunday Morning.

It will be a relaxed trip, so lots of Picts. And a good story.
