So I left the Bikes at home and caged it. ya ya, I know..... Ok, so I did take some picts for all of you. In no particular order.....

This and the next one are looking at the Rocky Mountains from above Wasa Lake, on the way to Kimberley on the back road.....

An old creek bed mined for Gold back in the day... it still has claims on it, so don't go down with you gold pan.....

That Fisher Peak on the left. It is the highest mountain in the East Kootenays, and I have stood on the top of it.... in the summer.

If you have ever ridden from Fernie to Elko, you may have noticed how flat the road is; taking into account it is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.... that is because it was built on an old Rail Road bed..... hence the Train looking tunnel...

This is heading up towards Ft Steel on the back road that is close to the Mountains.

The Steeples Mountains right next to Peckams Lake.

This is Peckams lake..... 40 years ago, I came up to the East Kootenays to visit.. We came out to this lake for lunch, drove back to Vancouver, Packed and moved.... this is the final resting place for me and my dogs...

Just West of Fernie

..ditto...

.ditto...

..& ditto

Gorgeous. I got in a tick over 100 miles today. 55° cloudy and a bit of wind, but no bugs.

Nice .... I woosed out with heated seat, steering wheel, warm feet .... and Roger Waters on the tunes. It would be nice to get a weekend in on Darla. But the snow is only a couple of thousand feet above us, and it is freezing every night. And there is a call for snow this week.....crap.

Ha. Amazing! As the weather was getting near 50 deg f I felt the need to go for a ride. You had said you were going to drive the cage today so I was kind of looking out for you. Never thought to look here at home though. I rode to Cranbrook via the Trout Hatchery, same as you, then past 2 of the coffee shops you frequent in Cranbrook, out of Cranbrook the back way to Wycliffe and Mission Rd, then home to Fernie again via the Hatchery. Left at 3, home by 6:15 to watch Sunday nite football. Did we pass one another?

You must have been right behind me heading West. I left the Bagel shop about 2:30 or so, hooked up towards Bull River, on to Wasa and home by about 4. Damn, if I was thinking we could have had lunch at Big Bang.

Rocky I'm considering trying to get away this week and ride 95 south through the Hells Gate area. I'd like to then get back up to Joseph/Enterprise to overnite. My concern is how much snow might I encounter going over the Wallowa Mts from Crossbow to Joseph. Your best guess please. Anyone else too.
