A friend and I rode the Indian Highway in OK and the Talimena Scenic Drive in OK-AR this past weekend. The friend rides a Goldwing but I don't hold that against him.

Couldn't have asked for better weather except the last 15 miles coming home had some rain. 60's to low 70's both days. Lots of folks out on Sat, cars and scooters. Hardly anyone on the road Sun morning. Not much color in the trees. Sweet gums just started turning and most of the leaves were gone off other trees. Doesn't matter, the Talimena is always a great ride. I've been on it a half dozen times, one of my favorite roads.

The pavement on the Indian Highway is a little rough north of OK144. Northbound side is in better condition than the southbound. Have to watch for missing chunks of pavement mostly on the right side of the lane.

My wife and I rode to Mena a couple weeks ago that was a very cool ride. We will have to do it again.

 

That area has some great riding. The Talimena Drive is one of my favorites. By Indian Highway, do you mean the Indian Nation Turnpike in OK?

 

The Indian Highway runs from Honobia, OK to US271 just south of Talihina, OK.

You should also ride the section of OK144 from US259/Bethel, OK to Honobia.
