Default Planning a 2 day trip in South Texas

Hey guys, me and a couple of buddies want to escape to Central / South Texas for a couple of days of riding and sight scenery. What are some great day trips starting at Austin you could recommend?

Luchenbach and Fredericksburg is a great day ride and I do it often. Take 1431 out of cedar park to 281 to 290. 16 into Kerrville is great also

Hippie Hollow! And Lake Travis is full now, when it was down 30 or more feet a couple of years ago.

Stay at the "Inn of the Hills" in Kerrville. Very nice place and have a restaurant right there with a HUGE buffet breakfast (that some of which is free, or pay for the full meal deal). 3 Sisters and everything else is all riding distance away.

Not sure I would call that South Texas, but for you, that may be the case. LOL
Big Bend area is in South Texas... Have heard some good things about that area but haven't been yet. But it is a ways on down there.

If you are into HD T-Shirts, you need to stop in Temple, Tx. (On I-35 north of Austin) and get a shirt at Horny Toad H-D. One of the most popular...

What time of year are you talking? Gets real warm down there. When I was there in mid-March of 2013, We dropped on down to San Antonio for a day on the River Walk. Hit 90* that day. Can't imagine being down there from June to September.

One more thing. If you are in the area of the 3 Sisters, hit Hwy 39 (Between hwy. 83 and Ingram). Runs kinda east and west on the west side of Kerrville. I liked that ride (scenery) better than anything else I rode in the area.

Thank you so much for the advise, i will look into it.

I said South Texas because we will be trending that way. We are spending a majority of our time (non motorcycle related) in Corpus Christi and we have a couple of days to kill.

Big Bend is west of Kerrville...making it West Texas. San Antonio and south is considered South Texas.
