The ride tracker is kind of fun, but I'm not paying for the extra services. I have no interest in the social media aspect and there are good ride planners out there that are free.

 

The problem with all the tech gadgets, including the navigation system on the HD is they are no good unless you either have good signals (iPhone) or have a good database (HD GPS).

I was riding in Southern Missouri last year and the GPS couldn't find anything south of Springfield, Mo. The map showed no roads, no towns like Shell ****...it was worthless. In that same area, I lost cell phone signal so I couldn't even use Google maps, which I almost always use.

Luckily I knew the area and had some paper maps with me.....never leave home without papers.
