Texas Hill Country

I would use trip adviser, or some other site on the internet. Many great places in the area. Some big, some small. I always go for some place nice (maybe a little more money) but smaller. Folks that run these places are super friendly. Makes for a lot of fun. One other thought, stop by an HD dealer, they will know the area well.

Well........here are some pictures lol. Great riding for two days, then knew it was time to head back. I was aware that heavy thunderstorms were predicted for entire midwest. What I didn't realize until that final night getting into Perryton, TX was that it was going to also get very cold. Last I had checked the weather a couple days before, our planned route back was upper 40s/low 50s. Wrong. We were chased by snow for two days and had to alter our route twice in the morning to avoid snow just to the north of us.
We rode in rain for two straight days, most of it heavy. High winds the entire time as well. We encountered sleet once. When we got home, snow was just an hour behind. Needless to say.......I'm still recovering. A trip I won't forget. Or hope to never repeat

Definitely sucked! But you know, we won't ever forget this trip either.
I've ridden I think around 150K on a bike and I'd say almost ALL of those 1200 miles Sat/Sun were the worst I've ever ridden in. We stopped the last day at a laundromat to dry ourselves out. I had a heated vest/gloves (gloved were completely soaked obviously) so I managed. My buddy just has heated seat and grips. At one point, I thought he was going to end up with hypothermia. He's a tough SOB.
That being said.....we had great riding in Hill Country. Stayed at a couple really nice places and ate really good food!
