Favorite California Road Trips

Got the news right before I logged on to HD Forums! Better wait until next year for a Southern Cal tour I think.
Yes, 71on72, done the Northern and most of your Central list, and 395 the full length of Owens Valley to Tahoe, also crossed Death Valley to Vegas on a run from Bakersfield. Love Owen's Valley and the East side of the Sierras, especially the little ride through Alabama Hills from Lone Pine to Mt. Whitney Trail Head. I think that pretty much leaves Big Sur on my "Wish List", and sounds like that will have to wait until another Summer / Fall. Thanks for the Response!

Perhaps someone on this thread can help me. I just got back from a trip to Sonoma and Napa. I rented an Indian Tourmaster from Eaglerider San Francisco and based out of downtown Sonoma. On day 2, I plugged a Napa winery into the bike's GPS and the default setting was "quickest". The route took me on an awesome twisty road between the valleys. Regrettably, the GPS just listed the road as "unnamed". Would anybody know the name of this road and/or the route number? When I return to the area, I'd like to re-ride this road. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like Trinity Road that starts from from Hwy 12 Glen Helen north of Sonoma and connects to Dry Creek Road. And you went right off Dry Creek Road a short distance to Mt. Veeder Road and took Veeder south into Napa Redwood Road.
Another possibility is you stayed on Dry Creek than went south into Napa.
A third possibility is you took Dry Creek to Oakville Grade into Oakville and then south on St. Helena Hwy 29 into Napa.
A fourth possibility is you could have stayed on Hwy 12 past Glen Helen to St Helena Road and took St Helena to Hwy 128 St Helena Beringer Vineyards. Then south 128 to Oakville and Hwy 29 and passed Mondavi on your way to Napa.
Or you could have been north of St Helen Beringer Winery on Hwy 128 to Sterlings Vineyard towards Calistoga.
Or I may have it backwards.
BTW If you are into Jack London stories. London’s home was Glen Helen where he wrote many of his books, Its now a state park Definitely worth a stop.

Just got back from riding Santa Barbara to the Redwoods (Avenue of Giants) with stops in Santa Cruz and Jenner. Had to make a couple of detours due to road closures on Highway 1 at Big Sur and also above SF near Stinson Beach.
Highway 1 was open from Jenner to the 101 with a few controlled stops for construction work.
We had great weather, no rain and little fog or mist.

Napa to Bodega Bay. Up Hwy 1 to Jenner.
From Jenner Hwy 116 east along Russian River to Guerneville. Continue Hwy 116 to Sebastapol. Hwy 12 to Santa Rosa, Sonoma and Napa.
