Just started planning the ride w/a start date of 7/6 or 7 and do 8 nights starting in Thunder Bay. Leaving from the Eau Claire Wi area. Will be doing solo unless I find a riding partner, hear the riding/scenery is awesome !

Being new to the K'Zoo this is the first heard of this trip. Many folks talk about riding around Lake Michigan. Look forward to reading about your trip.

Same here, first heard of it a week or two ago, cancelled my trip to Maggie Valley/Smoky Mountains to do this instead.

You are correct, most turnouts are on the westbound route. We've done the circle tour in both directions during the past few years and saw awesome new views from a different angle each time. Yep, making hotel reservations in advance is a MUST and also watch your speed ~ I received a $100+ ticket from Ontario's finest. It's a great ride and I'd done it again & again if I had the time!

Forget the turn outs, your over thinking it, done it many times both directions. Traffic is not an issue.

We did it last year leaving from Central Wi, Appleton area only ran 250ish miles a day. Stayed in Silver Bay MN, Nipigon, and WaWa, beautiful scenery the whole trip, a bit of fog in the mornings but awesome sights. We then entered back in to the US and followed the UP coast up to Copper Harbor, I highly recommend the ride. We made no reservations and had no issues with accommodations in mid July

My experience was the same as posts 15 & 16. Don't over think this!

I went clockwise for no reason!
