Default Wisconsin to New Orleans

The trip is planned and should be a good time. We are following the Mississippi River down with two stops along the way. Im just wondering how New Orleans is like in June? Seems rainy and stormy almost every day. Is this what I should expect the day to be like or are these usually on and off storms?

Been about 17 years since I lived in Gulfport, MS, less than an hours drive from New Orleans, but I don't recall June being particularly rainy there.

I think I heard on the news this morning we are already 7" above our long term average for this time of year, and Cindy is set to dump an additional 8 to 12 inches on us in the next couple of days. This is unusual, but it is what it is, and this week is definitely Not a good time to visit. When are you headed this way? This year is predicted to be a particularly active storm season.

In June you should be able to smell the urine of Bourbon street from the state line.

Our "Usual" weather pattern in the summer is "Popcorn" thunderstorms; not too bad, if you get caught by one sit it out at a café, overpass, gas station, or strip club for a couple hours and get back on the road. But Tropical Storms change everything. I am 45 minutes North of Bourbon Street, and I just got the "Tropical Storm Warning" on my cell phone for Cindy. And, Cindy is pretty much forecast to keep the Mississippi on the East (Wet) quadrant for the next few days, so I hope you are not planning to travel this week. http://www.wdsu.com/article/tuesday-...cindy/10199375

Smell it from the State Line? Usually true, but not tonight. It will be Thoroughly Rinsed!
