Default Adventures with the "Scorpios"

July 19, 2017.

Today's excursion took us to a small hamlet on the shore of beautiful Lake St. Clair in Ontario. "Lighthouse Cove" was the name of our destination.
We were 5 bikes and 8 people for about an hour and a half ride for dinner, conversation and refreshments.
The food at the restaurant (Dockside on the Cove) was excellent and the service was outstanding!
Attached are the photos along the way. Enjoy!

Default Adventures with the "Scorpios"

July 24, 2017.

We are packing up the Harley tonight and tomorrow morning and then heading out on an excursion up the Lake Huron shoreline to Southampton, Bruce Peninsula National Park and then over through Owen Sound and on to Collingwood. 2-3 days although Thursday looks bad for weather. Guess Suzie and I may get to try out our new Nelson-Riggs rain gear. We certainly hope not but we are prepared. Updates and photos to follow.

Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the "Scorpios"

July 25, 2017.

Loaded up the Harley this morning and headed out around 10 am. Destination for today is a small Lake Huron community north named Southampton, Ontario. After 2 brief stops, one for fuel, and one for a bathroom break we arrived at our destination around 1:30 pm. We found a nice bed and breakfast (Southampton Inn) about a 1 minute walk to the beach. After having an amazing fish & chip lunch at the famous "Duffys" on the Main Street we needed a walk to see the sights. Great trip today. Traffic was light and the weather was beautiful. Tomorrow heading for Bruce Penninsula National Park and a walk to the "Grotto". Pictures to follow. Very slow internet connection here so I will do my best.
Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the "Scorpios"

July 26, 2017.

Well let us first start by saying this has been quite a day! The weather made it less than suitable for riding and enjoying the sites. But, Suzie and I stood the test. We set out from Southampton about 9:30 this morning. Skies were very cloudy and it was cool.
Our destination was north through Sauble Beach and Sauble Falls and onto Bruce Penninsula National Park. Unfortunately after we got through Sauble the rains came. This forced us to pull over and get into our brand new rain suits. As you remember we had just purchased them last week. I was always under the impression if you had rain gear packed it would never rain. Well guess we proved that wrong! lol
So after riding through the soaking rain we made it Ferndale (Halfway to Tobermory) and we knew we had to make a decision. So, it was to head back south and make the "Grotto" excursion in September.
Off to Lions Head, Wiarton and then onto our destination for the night. (Walters Falls)
I have attached some pictures from last night and some from our soggy adventure today.
Thanks for following us and riding with us. We are dry and warm and off the road. More to follow tomorrow!
Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the "Scorpios"

July 27, 2017.

Today proved to be a much better day for riding. We will say it rained in the night while we were at the Inn, and omg it rained so hard it woke us up around 2:30 am.
But, the skies cleared around 9:30 in the morning and we headed on our way to home. No rain gear and sunshine.
We did stop on the way home at Pine River Cheese Factory and Goderich for lunch.
Pictures are attached from the day. We are home safe and sound.
Next adventure is next weekend to the "Hogs for Hospice" rally in Leamington Ontario. Yes there will be an update.
Cheers, Terry

Sounds like another good trip. Good for you and thanks for sharing! What the heck is that statue at the beach? A ground hog? What's the deal?

OMG thank you for asking.
That is "Wiarton Willie" and he is our equivalent of your Punxsutawney Phil the ground hog from Pennsylvania.
Too funny but we have one that comes out of his lair. Google it.
That's where we had lunch yesterday in Wiarton Ontario after a soggy ride.
Cheers, Terry

Default Adventures with the "Scorpios"

August 4th to 6th 2017.

"Hogs for Hospice" Leamington motorcycle rally.

We left Friday morning heading for Leamington Ontario. We were 5 bikes and 9 people headed for a weekend of fun. Very windy day on Friday making the trip a tad uncomfortable but we put up with it.
Saturday was the motorcycle ride from Seacliff park and down through Point Pelee National Park. This ride was awesome and Suzie videoed the entire ride with the GoPro. Once We get it downloaded we will post it as it is amazing.
Many pictures to share so here they come!

Cheers, Terry
