Kansas City to TN by way of Lousiana Suggestions?
Hi all!
Planning a trip for me and the boyfriend. The rough plan is to start In KC work our way south to the bottom of the Natchez Trace and take that up to TN and end in Cookeville at the Muddyroots music festival. Then head home.
We will each be on a bike and plan on camping and hotel-ing depending on locations and such.
Time frame: Leaving KC around the 26th of August and need to be at the festival Labor day weekend and be back to work on Tuesday.
What are the must rides, must see, must eat, etc. along the way?

Do a map search for Harrison Ark to Lafayette La. And another for KC to Harrison. At least in Ark this will give you great riding! Natchez Trace is very nice but very slow speed limit so plan that part accordingly. 45-50 most sections and you DO NOT want a speeding ticket on the Trace as the road is a Federal Park in itself thus Federal speeding ticket $$$$

one of the easiest routes would be catch hwy 7 in Harrison. Thru Eureka Springs may be worthwhile. Some great views of the Ozarks and the Ouachitas. You could stay on 7 all the way into Louisiana, but might I suggest making your way across to the east and seeing Vicksburg.
Some great old mansions, and historic old town. The battlefield is very interesting if history is your thing. Go on down by port Gibson and find Windsor ruins. You have prolly seen it in movies. Cool stop and neat old roads. Wander to the east and find the trace or on down to Natchez, another great old town.
Back trip you could cross into AR and head to Mt View. Great tourist stop. 14 is a great road. Blanchard springs is worth a side trip, cave is awesome too.
just some thoughts!!

I should have said 7 out of Harrison in my post since I did what I suggested and it chose a different route. 7 is a famous riding route. If you're old enough to remember Dog Patch USA amusement park the abandoned remains are just a few miles out of Harrison on 7. Worth a quick stop and explore itself.

You can take can take 69 south to Louisburg, 68 east to 2 Hwy and that goes into Harrisonville. Hop on I-49 south for a short jaunt. Hit Hwy 7 into Clinton, Grab Hwy 13 into Springfield and take Hwy 65 to Harrison, AR. Take Hwy 7 into Russellville. You can take Hwy 7 all the way to LA state Line or take HWY 40 into Conway,AR and hit 65 and go down to LA that way. We rode from Independence,Mo to Monroe,La in a day. Over 600 miles. Thats a very pretty ride. If you take Hwy 65 out of Conway,Ar that will wind you east toward MS.
I've never been there to Mississippi or Tennessee so your on your own. Sounds like a great trip. Enjoy.

If in Vicksburg, #10 Rooftop Bar & Grill or something like that. Natchez, Roux 61. On up the road for lunch, Old Country Store in Lorman. It is a country buffet, expensive, but good. Mr. D claims to have the best fried chicken in the world. Get him to sing for you. You can probably do a youtube video.
