Were you able to ride West on 35 out of Gwinn towards Negaunee?
I was surprised at the number of people at that street dance in the park Monday night. First time I've been out to that. Too bad the beer was warm and flat!

Nice write up, thanks. We were in the UP in 2013, didn't go the same way as you though. Good luck.

Yes we took 35 to Ispeming to pick up 41 on our way to Copper Harbor. A little longer and slower route but nice road!!!! As far as the crowd at the park it's my understanding that the class of '87 and possibly also '97 were there. Quite a few of my wife's '77 class were there. They actually plan these to occur during this time as it makes a good time to have things to do around Gwinn.

On my videos just turn the sound down!!! I use to add music but have gotten so many warnings from YT I just give up. They actually blocked a video of me going down Mainstreet Daytona this past October because one of the bars was playing a Bob Seger song and you could barely even hear it in the background over all the loud exhaust and other noise on Main. Contesting it didn't work How some still get away with doing it I haven't been able to figure out?????????

This is just a short clip to show that Hwy 41 up through the middle of the point headed to Copper Harbor is actually a fantastic motorcycle road if there is no traffic. The same was mentioned on the UPCruising site I was using to help plan this trip. All and all 41 has is all, great pavement condition, fast get there in a hurry segments, nice scenic segments, and nice twisty 2 lane segments. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy this twisty segment and going slow just makes my *** hurt!!! Had I been alone I would have overtaken these vehicles but I wasn't going to make my wife take the chances I would have taken. Never understood why the camper was so slow since it was a 3/4 ton truck just towing one of those large teardrop type trailers.

We must have passed at least 50 state parks along the way and many very pretty views of lakes and woodlands. This is just a clip for a few miles running along Superior shoreline immediately outside of Baraga.

Did you make a "donation" at the casino in Baraga? :>)

Up bright and early Tues morning. Weather forecast looks great with highs getting up into the 80's and it's already nearly 70 by the time we leave out around 8:30 a.m. Going to be a long ride with a lot of walking also. We make the quick jaunt to Marquette and pick up Hwy 28 to Munising. I spot a little lighthouse in a restaurant parking lot so of course I have to get a picture.

The plan was to take H58 out of Munising and take the long hike to Painted Rocks overlook. We stopped at the last gas station on the way out of town near a waterfall that's beside H28. I punch in Grand Marais into my Iphone GPS and take off. It takes me several miles down 28 to a connector road to H58 that ends up missing the Overlook which in the end worked out better!!!!! The first few miles of H58 were kinda blah to me because I am use to riding lots of really twisty roads but towards the end it tightens up some and becomes more enjoyable. First stop is an overlook to Superior. Quick photo and back on riding.

Next we stop at Sable Falls. Those what had to be 500 stairs damn near killed me and my wife coming back up. Wish I'd thought to video that climb as is would have been hilarious with even my fitness freak wife struggling with all the added weight of motorcycle leathers and boots on.

After sitting in the parking lot catching our breath we head on to Grand Marais where they are getting ready for a 4th of July parade and fireworks show. That little town was PACKED with people! We just look around for a minute and head on to Tahquamenon Falls park which is one of my must do's on this trip. We take the road out of Grand Marais back down to 28 and then high speed over to the junction of hwy 123. This is an awesome road almost the entire way up to Whitefish Point! After quite a few miles we finally pull into Tahquamenon Falls park and although our legs are still jello from the last falls we take the long paved walk to the Upper Falls.
I think to record these stairs although not nearly as many as Sable Falls had.
