One of my favorite rides. Done BOD many times. Plus, there's usually no traffic whatsoever.

Hungry Mother State Park has some great camping along with cabins. Great BBQ at Wolfe's BBQ in Marion. Military Surplus store across the street is worth perusing.

I was in Wytheville, VA (nice H-D dealership there) and also in Bluefield. WV (same on dealership) this summer and I plan to work a few days in for both on our "guys" trip this coming summer.

From what I observed, traffic enforcement is a factor to be considered both on the interstate and in small owns.

I'm from similar country and taking your time for pics, taking in the scenery and enjoying the culture is what it's all about.

I made the mistake of not staying in a better motel as I was simply passing through but if I'm using a motel as a "hub" I usually go a little more upscale.

Has anyone ever used the Turnpike Motel as a hub. Is there 3 or 4 days of good riding in that area. Just looking for options for a trip next summer. When is the best time to try an avoid rain in that area. Is July or August best???
