This year my club members & I stayed in Buckahanon W.Va, for 5 days, we rode 33, 19, 20, 60 & numerous backroads.
we visted Barnwood Builders, New River Gorge Bridge.
They area is just tremendous.

 

My buddies and I stayed south of you, in a cabin in Marlinton, but rode alot of those same roads, including up to Buckhannon.

Love those West Virginia roads!

 

Spent the night there and also with 4 other SCRC members. rode a lot of these roads...awesome area and the people are really nice.

 

Sounds like a fun ride. I stayed at that very same Hampton, back in May! (Had 1 of the worst meals I've ever eaten, at that Waffle House-type place right there!) A few miles back on 33 toward 79, in Weston, is an old mental hospital called the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum that does tours now. Pretty creepy, but it was kinda fun! Save it for your next trip! You'll go back! I discovered WV last summer, and have gone down 4 or 5 times on different roads, and I expect to go again too. Just pick a road, and it's a great ride!

 

There's lots of great roads in WV to keep any biker busy. Just took a quick motorcycle ride down there back in the middle of October. Camped at River Expeditions in Oak Hill, which is close to Fayetteville (a cool little town). Rafted right to that bridge on Saturday (New River) and rafted the lower Gauley on Sunday. I'm the guy on the starboard side, second from the front in the blue splash jacket.

 

You should make plans to ride down to Bridge Day, 3rd Saturday of October every year. It's the 1 day a year that it's legal to base jump from the New River Gorge Bridge. Couple of us went down last year, and we had a blast. Ride down on Friday, go to the bridge on Saturday, and ride home on Sunday.
