The weather can either make or break that ride.

The wife and I got on the SLD in Front Royal, VA several years ago and within minutes the weather changed drastically and between the wind, rain, fog, loose gravels and DEER it took us over 5 hours just to do the SLD (105 miles) and into Waynesboro, VA!
We had planned on continuing on down the BRP but we decided to hit the freeway instead and we still had heavy rain all the way to Gastonia, NC and we were the only motorcycles for the entire distance!
