Default Weather in the Ozarks

Would like to take a trip to the Ozarks in late April or early May. Weather is a major factor. Should I rethink my dates.

late April early May is the end of cold front season. Front comes through pushing storms, a day or two of dry weather, repeat. The speed of the fronts is variable by then. Could be more days between? maybe less?

Point is, pretty easy to plan around. Just keep an eye on forecasts. Temps can flux pretty good, but should have some nice days. Still tornado possible in the fronts so....

Been there in May several times already... always seemed to rain at least a day or two while there but that goes for anywhere & the temps were always comfortable!

My sister lives in Ft. Smith and advised us that tornado season ends around Sept. We went the last 2 weeks of Sept and it was still hot, day after we left temps dropped into the 50's

I assumed a cool damp day in Arkansas was better than a warm dry day in the recliner?

Looking at a cabin West of Eureka Springs. Figure it would be a good rainy day destination
