Yes lots of Coors Banquet after that, but Utah is all 3.2% alcohol beer, takes a lot of those to make anything happen.

Worst road I ever rode on was the Apache Trail from Tortilla Flats, AZ to Lake Roosevelt. I think the number is 188. There was 22 miles of dirt road that was wash boarded the entire length. Dusty and rough. I would never do it again on a bagger.

Been through there many times, I try to stay in the left most lane and just go.

That’s what I did when I went through the Chicago area this summer..... I was lucky, even though there was construction heading West, we maintained about 40/50 mph. I have had worse Freeway experiences.... San Francisco heading north on a Friday afternoon was one.

But the worst road I have ever been on was also one of the best roads. The Alaska Highway. It’s the construction that you get.... a lot of miles of seal coating and the constantly beat up pavement. I would do it again, but not on a bagger... it would be a long travel suspension ADV with 50/50 tires, a full coverage helmet & a full ADV riding suit.

The stretch of road I despise most is 80/94 from the point 80 joins 94 going east around Lake Michigan in IL and IN. I had to laugh when a trip author in the HOG magazine described that stretch of road as a "Nightmarish Hellscape" during a Lake Michigan Circle Tour article. I could not agree more. That thing is like 6-7 lanes wide, more semis tying to make time than cars let alone Bikes. Not to mention the urban blight scenery all around. If you can avoid it do.

State Route 57/Navajo Service Route 14 in New Mexico, heading north to Chaco Culture National Historical Park, was the worst I can remember. Gravel and dirt, lots of potholes, ruts, up and down hill, washboarding, you name it, that road had it, and in every combination. Ran between 5 and 15 mph in a car, used the whole road left to right and back, kept hunting for a speed to minimize the bounces from the washboarding, never found it.

Definitely the 40W going off the Mississippi bridge and into West Memphis and then hitting Little Rock during rush hour. Fortunately I had good weather.
