September will be hot in the south but chances it will be dryer. April has tornadic chances.
renting one way will result in significant 1 way charge from eagle rental. i have done that to reduce logistical nightmares trying to take my bike and would do it again but just know that in advance. i think is was around 400 dollars in 1 way charges when we rode from Portland or to SF. otherwise, i have rented many times from eagle and have had good bikes and no worries.

Hey all,

Thanks for all the good advice!
We finally booked our plane tickets a few weeks ago.
We are flying to LAX on the 8th of May and flying back to Brussels on May 26th.
We will be renting 2 Road Glides through Eagle Rider LA.

Below I have posted a rough overview of our planned trip. Keep in mind that this is a basic maps that only allowed 8 waypoints, so yes we will be doing all the scenic stuff like PCH Hwy 1 and all the scenic drives.

If you have any detailed advice left, feel free to share!!!

Thanks!

You're so close to Monument Valley you should go see it.

....... and since you originally asked about Route 66 ..... and since you're already at Kingman, AZ, why not take Rt 66 from Kingman, AZ to Needles, CA ? (gets you back to I-40)

Its one of the more scenic portions of Route 66 and you'll get to experience some of the 66 vibe, too.

There is another portion of 66 you could easily pick up east of Kingman, too.

PM if interested.

Tioga pass through Yosemite will most likely still be closed in May! Double check before planning that route. We have had a lot of snow this month in the Sierra Nevadas.

I agree... And maybe get the 4-Corners in as well.
