Will be hitting North Rim and Zion around June 1.. Can I just ride route 9 in Zion and see enough for do we need to walk some too ? I know we'll see more hiking but our day may be pretty full. Thanks !

Hiking a bit would definitely be worthwhile, but if you are short on time, you can just ride through. There are plenty of pull out spots for photos, stretching, etc. June is the beginning of the busy season, so expect plenty of traffic with an avg speed of ~20 mph. It's common to be stopped at the main tunnel entrance for a few minutes while they send busses and wide trailers through. All of that aside, it's worth it. I've ridden through ~8 times now and it amazes me every time. I took my son through last weekend for the first time and he was blown away.
The ride from Zion to the North Rim is great too. Last time I went down that way, we came back through Mexican Hat. That day is on my top 10 list for sure.
Excellent, thanks ! We're staying in Zion so I expect to get some good time in.
Next day we'll head to Bryce and around to Hanksville for the night. then Mexican Hat, Durango. Luv ur pic !
hey Jobiwan, my wife and I are headed to vegas last week of March and wondered if the weather is too cold to ride over to Zion that time of year?

Good question. My pic above was taken Friday around 6:30pm and I was dressed for a fall ride. I came down Hwy 89 from the Salt Lake area. With the mild winter we’ve had, you may be in jeans and a t-shirt by March, or it could be snowing. Haha. That’s weather in Utah.
