I was there last year on my way to Alaska. If you go to Post #656 of "Journeys" you can see the ride from Vanderhoof to Stewart.

I stayed in Stewart one night and after I unpacked went over to Hyder for a short ride. There really is nothing there except one bar. I rode in and out. There is a nice motel I stayed at that has a pretty good Restaurant across the street. It is called The King Edward, you probably want to reserve it was full early when I was there.

As to the road. From Prince George to the junction at 37 it is a great road, some straights, but lots of high speed rollers. Once you get on 37 it tightens up a bit, but is still nice all the way to Meziadin Junction, then it is west into Steward. Which I think is a Bucket List road. It is just a long way to get to it. The Glaciers are spectacular, but watch for bears..... if you look at the Journeys thread you will see the bears.... lots of them.

This is at the Junction when you head North on 37.

Roads were great till Stewart turnoff. Then we kept going to Prince Rupert.
McBride to PG is boring I thought.

I,m not so sure about those folks who are vehemently against a new pipeline. They spook me.

That’s a handful of people. The pipeline will go ahead. But anyway, California is great.
