Oregon Coast to Northern Cali

I can't figure out how to make a link to the map in here....
It looks like we may need to skip San Fran because of time. Total of 9 days possible, which doesn't leave much time for stops.
The link (if it works) has us starting in Meridian, ID (Boise) then going to Seaside. Then follow the coast to the Ave of the Giants. Down to Fort Bragg, then east towards home, cutting through Reno. I've done the ride through Reno a few times and wish there was a reasonable alternate route but I don't believe there is.
Still open for suggestions!!

Oh ya...... when your going through Port Orford, you are on a straigh stretch at the sout part of town ..... 101 bends to the left, and in front of you there is a street with a big VIEW Sign painted right on the road. Go up that road and look at the view. It’s worth it.
Also go west out of Tillamook on Hwy 131 to Netarts and follow that road down to Pacific City. Beautiful views and a real motorcycle road.

Is the turnoff to 131 very well marked?
Would I take the 131 to Netarts, then head south? Looks like I could pick up the 101 between Pacific City & Oretown if I'm correct?

You will have hunt a bit for 131, but worth it.
Yaquina Light house is a nice break. A couple of bucks to get in but worth it.

I'm sorry to have recommended this business. Try the Chartroom instead.
We went there to celebrate, we have had good food and great service before and had bought lots of seafood since they opened. However today was the worst service we have ever seen. We ordered two of the most expensive meals on the menu, a seafood platter $30, ribeye steak $27. The seafood arrived, 20 minutes later the steak showed up, a greasy looking mess, had to ask where the bread, salad that were included were. The 'waitress' had to look at the menu see check to see what was included, we never saw it. When we said the service was unacceptable and we asked to see the manager and got hostility "we are doing the best we can" When I stated we were leaving, they offered to call the cops, it was NOT our intention to leave without paying for the seafood. The level of accommodation was zero. We paid $60.00 for meals uneaten and rotten service. On the way out we were yelled at by an apparent employee.

Hey all,
In August a small group (3 bikes, 2 couples) are heading to the Oregon Coast. Not really planning much besides Boise to Seaside first day, then head south on the 101. Kinda hoping to hit at least part of Northen California, possibly all the way to San Francisco.
That's where my question lies....
Anything that is really good or something that we shouldn't miss?
If we stray too far from the coast I'm thinking we may need to cut through center of OR to get back home.
If we go to SF then we might as well cut through Sac to Reno on way home.
Either of those I'm thinking are 2 days home. I've done both but I'm not sure which I prefer. Either one will probably be warm (hot).
