for Micheal.... Hwy 287. just to the left of this is a sign telling about the dinosaur find in the valley. It is called Egg mountain, because the first thing they found there where eggs. 287 is pretty quiet with a few small towns along the way.

for Goldie, Viet Nam tour of duty 1967-1969.... On Hwy 89 heading north towards Browning

for Shovelhead77's Dad..... Continuing north on 89.....

for Mary .... still on 89. Two giants side by side, one 70 million years old, one just a couple.

Well, there are just some things you go by that you have to turn around to see. I did not find a plaque there or any reason why this is so. This one .... well this one is for the kids in all of us. Just too cool....

Ok, now it is Road To The Sun time......

Construction.... there will be one or two more years of it after this. I am thinking two. Then it will be a straight shot with not twist's all the way from Browning to St Marys.

for Keith.... Once your out of the construction, you go down into a small valley and then back up again, and you begin to get your first real views of Glacier.

for Judy... at the top of the hill, before you head down to St Marys is this view. Thats Glacier and the valley that heads to the Road To The Sun. There was a bit of smoke, but not too bad.

It was a great two days..... I am going to try one more in later August, just not sure where to yet. With all the smoke I might head to the Ocean and camp in Oregon somewhere. I just dunno yet.

I love that Pict. I was moving along at 70 mph and caught a quick glance at it, but had to go up the road a bit to find a decent place to turn around.

for Uncle Bud ..... heading up the West side towards the top... look closely and you can see the parking lot and lodge at the top.

Parking at the top..... no room for cars, but there is always room for bikes. I was lucky I got up up at the top of parking area.

for Rodger ..... The next two picts are not easy gets. You either have to park at the top and walk down the road a bit, or risk life and limb parking in a spot there does not seem to have enough room.

for The Young Canadians ..... from the same vantage point, looking towards the West. You can see the road and if you look closely maybe the trail above it that goes up into the mountains and onto Waterton lake.

I stopped taking picts there and hustled home. Next thing.... I don't know .... I have a few ideas, but no real plans yet...... but I am assuming that by next weekend, I will feel the need, the need for speed, the need to journey and feel the wind in my face.... I really miss last summers big mile runs. I was sitting in the motel room in Missoula on Sunday night, and was trying to talk myself into not heading North East, but South West. But I came home instead, as there are chores to do at work...... but..... if I get my ducks in order, it is four months on the road in 2019 .... and Sturgis in 2020 for the 80th on the Pan..... and then Europe on the Pan in 2021...... well, I got a plan, anyway.... we will see how the Journey Gods smile on me.... and I still have 11 1/2 pages of people to take pictures for..... this ride aint over for a while.....

Hate the long list. What you are doing is awesome. Looking forward to reading about the ride.

ClockTower Coffee Time. It’s been so smoky here I have had little desire to ride. I get out around town on the Pan but that’s it. Maybe on the long weekend I will go to Creston, which is just an hour West of us, for ShovelFest. Old bikes and old men. Heading to the Beach in two weeks for a couple of months. No where to park my Pan there and I need the truck, so riding season for me is drawing to a close. Not enough miles this year that’s for sure.
