Default Jackson California to lake Louise canada

Going on a trip with my daughter this summer, looking at going to lake Louise area as friends who've been there say it's wonderful. Anyone been through that area and the surrounding park? Is staying at lake Louise the best place to stay or are there's other options? She's 16 and loves photography, so nature and mountains would be great. Made a similar trip with my son 6 years ago, but crossed into Canada above Lake Superior via Minnesota. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Bannff and Jasper are cool towns, very different. Banff is international town. Jasper more mountian climbers.

Columbia Icefields are real cool. Take sno coach tour up.

Wonderful that you are taking your daughter. Lake Louise is beautiful. We stayed at the Chateau but it is very $.
There are small hotels that serve amazing food. Something about the French and their perfection for food.
you will also enjoy Jasper 3 hours north for photos

Currently looking at crossing over after bonners ferry Idaho on hwy 95, then BC 95 to BC 93, then thinking of heading over to Winnipeg and crossing back over in North Dakota.

There is accommodation in Lake Louise and Banff but bring your wallet and reserve early. There is a good selection of motels in Radium Hot Springs at the jcn of 95 and 93 as well as the Prestige Inn and the Village Country Inn. Check out the Hot Pools and watch for Bighorn Sheep on the main drag. Banff is about 1hr 45 min (85miles +/-) from Radium and Lake Louise is about the same. It will take longer because you will want to stop along the way. Bucket list ride for sure.

Bonners Ferry, Creston, Kootenay Lake Road, Crawford Bay, Ferry, Kaslo, New Denver, Nakusp, Ferry, Revelstoke..... that’s a day and the best road ride in BC. ...... then Golden, Lake Louise, Jasper, back to Banff, Hwy 40 through Peter Lougheed Park, 22 down to the Border, cross at Chief Mountain, St Mary’s, Road to the Sun, West Glacier, Hwy 2 to East Glacier, Browning, 89 to Grand Forks. ...... No Disappointments, and world class bucket list rides. There isn’t a bad mile in that route.
