Met a guy and his wife from Montreal. They ride a 1991 Fatboy all over the country.
He said they rode through Phoenix when it was 120 degrees but the leather channeled the air to the oil tank and kept it at 200 degrees. Anyway, nice guy.
Thanks. Next time I'll do it in a car. Lots of gravel roads I couldn't/wouldn't ride on. White Sands was like riding on the beach right after where I was parked. Barely scratched the surface seeing that place.

I refuse to take the Harley on dirt roads, unless it is just a short distance. So, places like Death Valley are definitely on the return list, but in the Jeep next time. Lots of places in the Moab area that demand I return in the Jeep too.
Was at White Sands a couple of years ago. Super cool place. I even liked Alamogordo. There's a museum there that was cooler than I expected: Museum Of Space History
A favorite photo from White Sands...

Enjoyed scrolling through your photos from the sunny Southwest, especially as the riding season is winding down here in the north country. Thanks for posting.
