I haven't checked a map but- Idaho is underrated! I spent two days in Lava Hot Springs- mostly soaking in the municipal hot pools as well as the ones in the Lava Hot Springs Hotel! nice.

Don't rush your way through Utah. Monument Valley, Highway 12, Bryce Canyon, THEN the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. After that, Zion National Park on your way to Banning.

This looks like a great way to do it. Thanks.

That first day is going to be a long day of boring slab. You going I70 or I80? I did St. Louis to Flagler CO in one day last year but you probably have at least another 400 -600 miles further to go depending where in Illinois.

I will be on I-70. Yes it's a long, boring run from here to Denver. It usually takes me 12 hours to get to Denver. I have a free place to stay there and then a short hop to Delta the next day.

Things are changing a bit now that I am getting closer. I have had this trip planned for almost a year, now my daughter is moving to Colorado a few days before I planned on leaving. It looks like I might be driving a truck pulling a trailer of her stuff instead of riding. Not thrilled about that, but helping my daughter is more important. I won't be complaining about the A/C in Kansas. Maybe I will have room in my truck or trailer for my bike and I can leave it at her new home while I venture west.

If you're doing North Rim, you're pretty close to Bryce National Park. I think it would be worth your time.
