Default Utah, Arizona then California

I am going on a western sight seeing trip next month and want some advice from those who live or travel there. My first stop will be in Delta, Co. I will be super slabbing it to Delta without any stops. From Delta, the next destination is L.A., but I want to see some sights on the way.

As of now, I am planning to go to Moab, UT, then ride the Moki Dugway, Monument Valley then to the north rim of the grand canyon. I have never been to the north rim. After the north rim, I want to make fairly good time without much stopping to Banning, Ca. After a visit in Banning, if I have time, I want to head up to death valley and then on up to the Avenue of Giants.

Am I missing something close that I should try to visit while I am in that area?

Death Valley is going to be SO HOT and the Ave of the Giants are way far apart. You may want to map out your ride this way do the Co. thing then come down to Monument Valley then accross to 89a and up to Jacobs Lake to the North Rim then Moab (I am not familiar with Moki Dugway) but then Vegas up to Beaty Nv and into Death Valley and on to LA then up to Ave of the giants but that is clear on the North end of CA. then your route home.

Thanks. The only two places I must go are Delta and Banning. I have two weeks. If I get up to the redwoods or not will depend on how long I stay at the two stops to visit family.

Death Valley and the redwoods are probably not going to happen, but a possibility if time allows.

Take a day and ride $M Hwy. Delta to Durango and back. Before heading to Moab.

California is on fire. Go from Banning over to PCH. We can tell you how to avoid most of LA. Go from Ventura up to Morro Bay north. Hwy 1 Big Sur. Head back home Sacramento over Donner Pass, North Lake Tahoe, Reno and home.

To get to Sacramento. Big Sur to Monterey, Marina to Castroville to Hwy 101 north of Salinas. North 101 a short distance turnoff to Hollister. Pacheco Pass to Intestate 5. North 5 to Sacramento. Sac to Reno

Thanks 71. I rode the million $ a few years ago. Might do it again because I will be so close. If I do make it up to the redwoods, pch 1 is the way I will go. I have visited LA and south many times, but have never been north of LA in Ca

I have been planning this trip for a year and thought it would never get here, now I am trying to find time to get done what needs to be done at work before I can leave.

I am starting from central IL, but going straight to Delta Co for the first leg. Nothing I am interested in between here and there. Delta, Co and Banning, Ca are stops to visit family. I just want some sights I haven't been to before after I leave Delta. It's been years since I've been on the ground west of Co.

PCH from Ventura to Big Sur & Monterey is a must.
Not much between there an San Francisco except traffic
North of Golden Gate Hwy 1 to Redwoods if you have time.
