Nice pics, brings back lots of good memories from many of those locations. Thanks for posting, Close Encounters thing was way cool.

Nice. Gotta ask do you clean your bike in the dark? Sure looks good for the road trip miles that you were putting down. Makes me realize what a disgrace mine(prolly me, too) looks like when traveling.

My street glide is still covered in bugs from the trip I took over Labor Day.

I was on a similar trip last Sep/Oct, and coming across I90 and saw the signs for Devils Tower. Didn't really know it was in the area but recognized the name so I took the detour to see it. My bike got absolutely filthy during that trip. I don't think the picture does it justice on how filthy it really was.

My windshield after a 2.5day run home from eastern Montana a year ago. Due to a couple of nasty T-storms it was clean when I left.

I did wash it when we got to Deadwood. Had to. It looked like I was off road with it. Heated up water in the jetboil poured the boiling water on a towel and layer it across the fairing. But after that was just quick detail.

it'll be here before ya k ow it. I'm up on the lake. Top of the snow belt. And work in the meat of the snow belt. But my winter mode of transportation is almost as much fun.

Looks like a great time. I really want to do a tent trip one of these days. This is inspiring. Thanks.

Did you have your campgrounds located and/or reserved in advance? I'm really comfortable finding cheap and adequate hotel lodging while on the road, but less comfortable tracking down a good deal on a campsite.

I use the KOA app. Figure out how far I want to ride and find one one the app. Reserve my site in the morning and then go. This trip with more than just me I waited until we were a bit closer to our destination. Most expensive night was 23 bucks a person. Cheapest was 6.50. If you're traveling with others ask how many tents you can put on one site. We never needed 3 sites. And twice we only had to get 1. When I'm alone. I'm fitting the whole bill for the site. Most I've ever paid was 42 bucks a night. I always get electric and water. Charge my phone and water to clean the bike or for the jetboil.
