Default Tail of The Dragon ride.

Hello all. 5 of us are riding from NJ to ride the Tail in October. Was wondering other than riding the tail. What are some good attractions in the area? We’re going for 4 full days. Thanks.

Ride the Cherohala Skyway which is spectacular and as much of Moonshiner 28 as you can fit in. Both have great views and plenty of twisties to keep you interested.

Yes! And once you get to the end of the Cherohala turn left on TN68 and follow it to Turtletown TN. Great road! From there you can continue on to N GA and ride 60 from Blue Ridge to Suches. Numerous choices from there if time permits. Or, at Turtletown you can turn left and take NC 230 into Murphy, hit 129 and make your way back to the Dragon st Robbinsville.

It is hard to find a road that is not great in that area, Wayah Road is a great ride IMHO.

Also, a trip to Helen, GA is worth consideration.

From Franklin heading east on 64 was some great waterfalls. It was VERY crowded on a july weekday.

You said attractions. A weekday in October should not be crowded. Cades Cove is a cool place. Often way crowded. If not, lots of wildlife and old buildings. Good place to see bears, but they may be hunting hibernation by then??

Wayah rd is one of my favorite either before or after Moonshiners 28...There is a little grill halfway through Wayah rd , it’s a cabin and boat rental and easy to miss, they have some good food.

Wayah Rd is also one of my favorites. It runs between 74 and 64 just east of 129 coming out of Robbinsville. I think it's also called CR 1310
