YMMV

Hopefully, my wife won’t find out about the July snow.

You're going to love Beartooth Pass. Fantastic road, incredible scenery!

We've ride it whenever we can, sometimes multiple time in one year!

Last year we were there a bit early...in the first half of June.

It is Marys' favorite road, and in my top 5.

Have a great trip!

I keep seeing this thread pop up, so here's my second comment on the original question...

There is no such thing as "extra miles" when contemplating a ride like Beartooth. Whatever it is to get there, is worth it.

All the best,

Shane

Was there 3 years ago. Definately a must see and and also Chief Joseph Hwy. I traveled 1500 miles to ride it so 200 is a no brainer

A thousand miles is not to far to see the top of Beartooth

Well, thanks TGeezer! The ole lady and I discussed it and we will go to Yellowstone after Sturgis this year. She wants to see old faithful. I want to ride Beartooth and Chief Joseph hiway. Some of the input on this thread helped form my opinion. Great pics everybody!

As a Montana resident, route 2 over the BT is your route.

Last, if you've never ridden the big Horn mountains being that close their is a route down chief Joseph through Cody that takes you back to Billings that is doable in a day and is fantastic. Check out hwy 16A.

If you want to stay off the slab, PM me, can definitely give you some roads that are worth the Xtra miles and point out some areas to stop and smell the timber.
