Guess I just missed it. Have gone by the old Broken Spoke /Full Throttle many times when out there. I may have thought it was part of the Spoke.

I saw the river there 3 years ago overflow and take the tents dwn.
In Nebraska, I have seen Hail as big as baseballs!!
Thank god i was not riding at the time!
having Just a hammock would suck.

Having been there at the Chip when hail tore through the roofs of a few hundred/thousand campers and vehicles yeah a hammock or even a tent would suck!

It's the old Broken Spoke out at Bear Butte about 7 Miles N of the Chip, It's the new location for the Full Throttle after the old one burned down a few years back.

I've never stayed at the Broken Spoke/Pappy Hoel campground but I've visit the pool several times. That can be a fun day if you get a good crowd. You can pay for just the pool if you're not staying at the campground.

FWIW I use a heavy tarp as a rain fly on my hammock set up.
