Nice Pics! I've been there 4 times in last 5 years as I was working in Korea and it was a short 4 hour flight to PI and a good place to party, but you need to be really careful especially around Manila.
You know when you get to your hotel and you see a metal detector, guard dog, and three security guards at the entrance to your hotel (Paradise in Makati anyway) that the potential is there. Ditto for the mall right next to the hotel.
I know that is the financial district and a lot of threats their but still, you need to be really vigilant. Another nice touch is the guards at the toll booths with sawed off shot guns.
Cheap living, but too much crime, poverty and the heat and rain are relentless most of the time. It is a great place to visit but I could never live on an Island again. I go stir crazy (spent 3 years in Hawaii and a year in the PI back in the 70s - Navy days at subic.
I think this photo was Cowboy Grill...somewhere by Mall of Asia. This is a 5 dollar beer in the PI.

Long story, but yes.
I work on on a ship on a four month on four month off schedule. Now that our kids are out of the house my wife goes back to the Philippines when I am on the ship. When I get off the ship I join her there for a month or two before going back to California. We have a house n the Philippines .
We stayed in the Philippines for twenty years full time from when we wee first married until my kids were in high school. Then we moved back to California were they finished up high school and then went to college at the university of North Dakota. The oldest graduated last year. The youngest is a Sophomore. I hope to retire from the ship in three years and would like to split my time between PI and California. We’ll see how that goes.

The Motorcycle Club scene is different over here. It’s more of live and let live style like it should be. I’ve never heard of a club over here trying to tell another club they couldn’t wear their patch like they do in the States.
